Mezcal Unión Uno was the brand's first variant, introduced in Mexico in 2011 and in the United States in 2014. Mezcal Unión Uno is an un-aged mezcal handcrafted with Espadín and Cirial Agaves, which have been matured for 8 to 14 years, cooked, fermented, double distilled and expertly blended to boast balanced fruity and herbal notes along with a hint of smoke that adds depth and complexity.

Mezcal Unión collaborates with several communities across different villages in Oaxaca, Mexico, empowering maestros mezcaleros and agave farmers to become entrepeneurs of their own businesses.

• Notes of Encino oak tree firewood, followed by pear and green apple notes from the agave Espadín. Earth, herbal and citrus notes from the agave Cirial are also perceived.

• 1.5 oz. Mezcal Unión Uno
• 2 oz. Fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice
• 0.5 oz. Fresh lime juice
• 0.5 oz Simple Syrup
• Pinch of salt
• Splash of soda water

Garnish with a slice of lime and a rim of lava salt.
